Disproportion of breast cancer treatment among women of color
Committee: Health and Sexuality
Topic: Understanding that the disproportion of breast cancer treatment is causing an issue
Alarmed by the mortality rates of women who are getting breast cancer about 40,000 women were expected to die in 2013 from breast cancer("What are the risk factors for breast cancer?", 2013),
Aware that African American women are genetically targeted breast cancer is more common in African American women that white women(breastcancer.org,2013),
Bearing in mind that not everyone has financial resources to get treatment a single genealogy test is around $3,100(Hayes,2013),
Taking into account that there has been research done to prevent cancer and find cures it's still alarming,
Stressing that not only women are at risk of developing breast cancer but men as well "men are at significantly greater risk than women from nearly all of the common cancers that occur in both sexes, with the exception of breast cancer”(National Cancer Intelligence Network and Cancer Research UK,2009),
1.Confirms that this disproportion is causing an issue and everyone deserves early diagnosis because everyone is human and many people who do not get the treatment suffer.
2.Expresses the hope that there has to be a reform made for equality in treatment for women regardless of race women deserve treatment.
3. Acknowledges the fact that Obamacare has been passed for people who need it and some people now have the chance to get a type of cure.
4.Recommends further funding to keep doing research to one day find a preventative cure and to keep doing research there needs to be funding contributions.
5.Urges that anybody can develop breast cancer and should be well aware of the symptoms because if you are not educated of the issue you can be the next victim.
